GBA is excited to announce the 2025 Woodward L. Vogt Project Excellence Award. The application period is now open.

This prestigious award recognizes the most outstanding projects by GBA members who live and demonstrate

Winners will receive a plaque, be recognized at GBA’s Annual Awards Ceremony in April 2025, and have the exclusive opportunity to present their project at the 2025 Fall Leadership Summit, showcasing their hard work and contributions to society in front of all their peers, clients, and other professionals from across North America.

The deadline for applications is January 31, 2025 but don’t delay – the short application doesn’t take long to complete.

Past Woodward L. Vogt Project Excellence Award winners include:

S&ME for their Great Falls-Dearborn Diversion Dam Bypasses, Great Falls, South Carolina (2024)
This project was initiated to restore flows to an old riverbed as well as add recreational opportunities for kayaking and canoeing for the community. The project consisted of bolstering the existing dams and building a canoe-kayak course with safe river access. S&ME provided geotechnical engineering, environmental design, permitting, and construction materials testing and support. LEARN MORE

GeoProfessional Innovation Corporation for their Selway Road Landslide Emergency Response in Idaho County, Idaho (2023)
Historic rainfall caused slope failure and road closure, blocking critical access for firefighting, material supplies, and public access. Given the slide’s remoteness, repairs had to be practical, consider difficulties to deliver/install various materials, and limit damage to the surrounding forestland. These parameters were balanced by the need for quick access and a solution that could be implemented prior to winter weather. GeoProfessional Innovation Corporation worked with stakeholders in a design-build effort to evaluate this large, complex slide system, comprising 100,000+ cubic yards of soil and rock. LEARN MORE
